Terms of Service

Seekmodo is provided by Numinix ("Numinix", "we"). By using the service you agree to these terms.

1. Subscription & billing

  • We bill monthly via PayPal (subscription or card-on-file through PayPal Card Fields). You can change plan or cancel at any time at /billing.
  • 14-day free trial on every plan — no card required to start. Your tenant is functional the moment you verify your email. You may attach a payment method (PayPal subscription or card-on-file) at any point before day 14; we don't charge until day 14 either way.
  • One free trial per storefront domain per 365 days. The 14-day trial is bound to the storefront domain you enter at signup. If that domain has been on a Seekmodo trial within the last 365 days — regardless of whether the prior account converted to paid, lapsed to native-search fallback, or was deleted — a new signup for the same domain will not include a second free trial. You can still sign up and attach a payment method to begin paid service immediately; ingest and telemetry continue to flow in the background as for any other tenant. Signups for domains that already have an active Seekmodo account return an error directing you to log in or ask the existing owner to invite you to the team.
  • Post-trial without a payment method. If you haven't attached a payment method by the end of day 14, your storefront search automatically falls back to the CMS's native search (a graceful degradation — no shopper sees an error). Your tenant stays alive; catalog ingest and click telemetry continue to flow so the moment you attach a payment method your Seekmodo search comes back online with all your data intact. To stop data collection entirely, use the "Delete account" control in /billing.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and PayPal prorates the difference. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal; we don't prorate downgrades.
  • Prepaid credits (optional). You may opt into a prepaid credit balance at /billing to keep AI search running past your monthly plan quota. Credits drain at your tier's per-1K rate; optional auto-recharge tops up from your card on file when the balance falls below a threshold you set.
  • Failed payments enter the dunning sequence: day 0 / 3 / 7 / 14 email reminders, pause at day 15, full cancellation at day 30.
  • Delete account is final. Clicking "Delete account" cancels any active PayPal subscription with no refund (partial-period charges already collected stay collected), stops data ingest within 24 hours, and starts a 30-day soft-delete window during which a reply to the confirmation email can restore the account. After 30 days, tenant data is hard-purged.
  • Internal / strategic-partnership accounts. Numinix may, at its sole discretion, designate specific accounts as comp / internal. Comp accounts ride on Seekmodo at the Scale tier without billing; this designation can be withdrawn at any time, after which the account follows the ordinary subscription flow above.

2. Acceptable use

  • You may not use Seekmodo to index illegal content, malware, or content you don't have rights to.
  • You may not attempt to bypass rate limits, the HMAC envelope, or the per-tenant scoping.
  • We may suspend an account that breaches this section after a reasonable notice period.

3. Service levels

We target 99.9% monthly availability for the gateway. Planned maintenance windows are announced 7 days in advance. Service credits for downtime are issued on request to [email protected].

4. Data ownership

You own the catalog documents you send to /v1/index. We hold them only to make search work for you, and we delete them within 30 days of account deletion (or, if you cancel only the subscription but leave the account open, within 30 days of any future account deletion).

Anonymous aggregate use. Anonymised, aggregated query / click signals from Seekmodo tenant traffic — never raw records tied to your tenant — may be used to train shared relevance models that improve search quality for every tenant in your vertical (e.g. a base learning-to-rank model that ships on day one to a new commerce tenant). Raw, tenant-attributable data never crosses tenant boundaries. See our Privacy policy §7 for the full list of what we aggregate and what we don't. You can opt out of contributing to this aggregation by deleting your account.

5. Liability

Numinix's total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the incident.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Disputes are heard in the courts of Toronto.
