Answers, straight up.
The questions we hear most often — trials, pricing, performance, hosting, the connector. Can't find what you're looking for? Talk to a human.
Is there a free tier?
Enhanced Native search ships free when you install the connector — better local search with no account or subscription. Subscribe (or start a 14-day trial) for cloud smart search and the full product: recommendations, chat widget, image search, merchandising, experiments, and the AI-assistant API. Every paid tier includes the same features; monthly limits differ. See the pricing page for volume bands.
What's included on every paid plan?
The same full product on Hobby through Growth — smart search, recommendations, chat shopping assistant, image search, synonyms and pins, A/B experiments, analytics, and the AI-assistant API. Plans differ by monthly searches, catalog size, AI-assistant call limits, and support SLA — not by feature walls. Scale adds bring-your-own embeddings and custom AI-assistant tools.
What's free vs what requires a subscription?
Enhanced Native on install (no account). Cloud smart search and the full subscribed product require a paid plan or active trial.
Which plan should I pick if I'm not sure how much traffic I'll have?
Pick any plan — you can't pick wrong. Every plan starts with the same 14-day trial: full Growth-tier features and unlimited searches during the trial, regardless of which tier you signed up under. The plan you pick only sets your billing tier on day 14. Watch the searches counter in your dashboard for a few days; the number you actually generate tells you which plan fits. Switch up or down from /billing in two clicks any time before — or after — the trial ends.
What happens if I exceed my plan's monthly searches after the trial?
The search bar keeps working — visitors never see an error. By default the connector serves Enhanced Native (your improved built-in search) for the rest of the billing period; no surprise overage charges. With prepaid credits, smart search continues past your plan limit until the balance is empty. We email the operator to upgrade and the dashboard shows a one-click upgrade button. Trial users never hit plan quotas during the 14-day trial.
Does Seekmodo work the moment I install it, or do I have to wait for it to learn?
It works the moment install completes — no warm-up dead zone. Seekmodo ships with per-vertical models we already train across the customer base (commerce, content, knowledge bases, communities), so day-one rankings are intent-aware, typo-tolerant, and calibrated for the kind of site we're searching. On top of that, every plan ships pins, synonyms, rescue rules, the AI-agent endpoint, and the real-time analytics dashboard from minute one. Site-specific tuning then layers on as visitors search: trending and rising-query detection lights up within hours of first traffic, and self-tuning relevance starts nudging rankings toward what visitors actually click within the first week of real activity.
Will Seekmodo slow down my storefront?
No. The connector calls Seekmodo asynchronously and the storefront's own search remains as a fallback. If Seekmodo is ever unreachable (or quota-capped), shoppers see the store's built-in search instead of an error.
Where is my data hosted?
US-region infrastructure (Liquid Web). EU-region hosting is on the roadmap for Scale customers — escalate any GDPR-residency questions.
Can I bring my own embedding model?
That's a Scale-tier feature ($999 / mo) — listed publicly on the pricing page, no sales call required to enable it.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from the billing page; the current period stays active until the period end. We do not pro-rate refunds.
Do you have a partner program?
We're early. Partnership conversations should always be escalated to a human.
Can I get a discount?
We don't have public promo codes. Annual prepay or multi-tenant discounts are negotiated individually for high-volume Scale customers — escalate discount requests to a human.
Which platforms have a Seekmodo connector today?
WordPress, WooCommerce, and Zen Cart are all generally available — install the connector from your account portal and pair in the admin in one click. WooCommerce ships inside the same Seekmodo Search WordPress plugin, so a WooCommerce-on-WordPress site gets both verticals (content + commerce) from one install. Sites on any other platform can pair through our public REST or MCP API today (`/docs/rest`, `/docs/mcp`). Drupal, MediaWiki, Magento Open Source, PrestaShop, Discourse, and Ghost are publicly on the roadmap at `/plugins`. Shopify is not on the roadmap — we focus on the open web.
Which languages do your SDKs cover?
Five first-party SDKs ship today: JavaScript / TypeScript (`@seekmodo/sdk` for browser and Node storefronts), PHP (`numinix/seekmodo-connector`), Python (`seekmodo-sdk`), Ruby (`seekmodo-sdk`), and Go (`github.com/numinix/seekmodo-sdk`). See the [SDK hub at `/docs/sdk`](/docs/sdk) for install commands and links to each language's reference page.
How do I install the WordPress connector?
Sign up, verify your email, and the in-app onboarding wizard links to the WordPress connector at `/plugins/wordpress`. Drop the plugin into your WordPress site like any other plugin, activate it, and click "Connect to Seekmodo" inside the WordPress admin to pair it with your Seekmodo account. No API keys to copy. The plugin auto-detects your public Custom Post Types and ships a typeahead REST endpoint out of the box.
How do I install the Zen Cart connector?
Sign up, verify your email, and the in-app onboarding wizard provides a download link plus a one-click "Connect to Seekmodo" button inside the Zen Cart admin. No API keys to copy.
Can you build me a custom connector for a platform you don't yet support?
Yes. Seekmodo is operated by Numinix (numinix.com), a commerce and web development agency, and Numinix builds custom connectors as a paid engagement on top of your Seekmodo subscription. If your platform isn't on our roadmap and you don't want to write the integration yourself against our public API, share your platform and rough scope and we'll route the conversation to the Numinix team for a quote. Pricing and timelines are quote-based — they vary with the platform's API surface, the volume of content, and the features you need. See `https://numinix.com` for the agency-side details.
Can I see a live demo on my platform?
Yes. Try these live storefronts — open the link and use the site search box:
Zen Cart: https://www.redlinestands.com, https://www.keepitpersonal.co.uk, https://www.numinix.com, and https://www.numinix.ca.
WordPress: https://trek.ca and https://www.pocomarine.com.
Custom / headless: https://www.americankeysupply.com.
The chat bot can suggest the best link for your platform from the full roster.
How do I change currency in the admin?
Open Settings → Regions in the tenant admin (`/regions`). Each region row has a Currency column — enter the ISO 4217 code (USD, GBP, EUR, …) and save. Currency drives price-filter parsing and how prices display in search results for shoppers in that region. Single-region stores still edit the default region row here. Multi-region configuration requires the Scale plan.
Not seeing your question? Our support chat (bottom-right of every page) is grounded in the same knowledge base as this FAQ — it can usually answer immediately, and if it can't, it hands off to a human within one business day. Or use the contact form and we'll reply by email.
